SOOHO is developed and operated by Matthew Shin. This Privacy Policy explains how SOOHO collects, uses, and shares information when you use the SOOHO mobile app on Android or iOS.Contact and account deletion requests
For privacy questions or to request deletion of your SOOHO account and associated personal information without opening the app, email [email protected]. Use the subject "Delete SOOHO account" and send the request from the email address associated with your account, or identify that address so we can verify ownership. We will verify your request and help complete deletion. See "Retention and account deletion" below for what is removed and what may remain.
Information we collect
Account information: your email address, account identifier, name, optional profile photo, and authentication information. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the information that provider makes available for sign-in, such as an identifier, email address, name, or profile photo.
Team and activity information: team membership and roles, team details, schedules, event locations you enter, RSVPs, attendance, and related team activity.
Content you provide: chat messages, bulletin posts, comments, reactions, and photos or files you choose to upload, plus information you send when contacting support.
Technical information: device and app information, operating system, app version, network information such as IP address, notification tokens, usage events, identifiers, and crash or error diagnostics. Analytics events may be associated with your SOOHO account identifier and team or event identifiers.
How we use information
We use information to create and authenticate accounts; provide team management, scheduling, chat, bulletin, and attendance features; deliver service emails and notifications; respond to support requests; protect the service; diagnose crashes; and understand and improve app performance and usability.
How information is shared
Your profile and team activity are visible to relevant team members and administrators. Content you share is visible to the audience of the relevant team, chat, or bulletin. Profile photos and team images may be accessible to people who have their image URL. Avoid uploading sensitive information you do not want others to see.
We use service providers to operate SOOHO, including Supabase for authentication, database, and file storage; PostHog for product analytics; Google Firebase Cloud Messaging and Apple Push Notification service for notifications; Firebase Crashlytics for crash diagnostics; and email delivery providers for account and service emails. These providers process the information needed to perform their services. Apple and Google also process information when you use their sign-in services.
We may disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the service, or in connection with a business transfer, subject to applicable privacy requirements.
Advertising and data sales
SOOHO does not display advertisements, sell personal information, or use personal information for targeted advertising.Permissions and your choices
You can control notifications in your device settings and choose whether to upload photos or files. SOOHO uses the system photo or file picker for content you select. You can edit your profile in the app. Disabling an optional permission may limit the related feature.
Retention and account deletion
We retain information while your account is active and as needed to provide the service, address security or support issues, and meet legal obligations.
In the app, go to Settings > Delete Account. If you are the only administrator of a team with other members, assign another administrator first. Account deletion removes your identifying profile information, sign-in connections, team memberships, notification tokens, and personal attendance and RSVP records. Profile image files are handled by a scheduled cleanup process.
Shared chat messages, bulletin posts, comments, and their attachments may remain in team history after account deletion, without your profile name. Content can still contain personal information you included in its text or attachments. Technical account references, analytics or diagnostic records, and backups may remain under the relevant retention processes. Contact us to request deletion of additional personal information.
Security and international processing
We use safeguards such as encrypted connections and access controls to protect information. No system can guarantee absolute security. SOOHO and its service providers may process information in countries other than your own, subject to applicable data protection requirements.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. Contact us to make a request. We may need to verify your identity before acting on it.
Children and privacy
SOOHO is not directed to children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information through SOOHO.Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service or our practices change. The updated policy will appear on this page with a revised date. We will provide additional notice when required.
